In May 2012, Garena announced the Garena Premier League (GPL), a six-month-long professional league for online gamers with more than 100 games scheduled being played. The inaugural season of GPL will be comprised of a League of Legends competition which comprises six professional teams. These teams represent the top athletes from their respective countries. GPL games are recorded and broadcast online along with commentary, and are accessible to viewers to watch on the GPL official website. In January 2013 Garena revealed the second seasons of Garena Premier League, which was scheduled to begin on the 4th of January 2013. Garena Premier League 2013 includes two teams that are new to Taiwan and Vietnam and Vietnam, which bring the total amount of teams up to eight. They include AHQ (Asia), Saigon Fantastic Five (Saigon Jokers), Bangkok Titans (Bangkok) Kualalumpur Hunters(Kuala Lumpur) as well as Manila Eagles(Manila), Taipei Assassinsand Singapore Sentinels. Garena's ESports Stadium, a place that is dedicated to esports within the Neihu District Taipei, opened its doors on November 14 in 2014. The studio was built partially to accommodate the beginning of the League of Legends Masters Series The top-level Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau LoL league that was a spun-off from the GPL. Garena began her participation in the Iron Solari League - a League of Legends competition for women in the Philippines on January 1, 2015. It is a bi-monthly tournament which takes place during the second half of every month. This event aims at encouraging participation of communities with low representation and is open to all women who identify as such. In addition to tournaments that are competitive, Garena also organizes events designed to allow members for offline networking and meeting. The most notable of these is events like the annual Garena Carnival held in Singapore as well as Malaysia.
