
Rachel Keller is a fictional character from The Ring film series. The character was created by producer-writer Ehren Kruger, and played by Naomi Watts, serves as the main character in The Ring and The Ring Two which share a number of similarities with Reiko Asakawa, the protagonist of the original Japanese films.Introduced in the 2002 film, Rachel is an investigative journalist who must figure out a way to escape death after having to watch an unlucky video tape she discovered while investigating the murder of her niece. In The Ring Two, Rachel must investigate the background of Samara Morgan when her son gets sick with a mysterious ailment.In The Ring, Rachel Keller who is an investigative journalist who is requested by her sister Ruth to investigate the mysterious circumstances that led to Katie's death. Rachel discovers that Katie was in good health and that she discovered Katie's corpse disfigured inside the closet. Katie's friends inform Rachel about the myth of the cursed tape and how Becca Katie's best friend was confined after Katie's death. Katie's boyfriend, as well as two of her closest acquaintances, also passed away in bizarre accidents that took place on the same night , at 10:30 pm. Rachel goes to Shelter Mountain Inn, where she stays in Cabin 12. This is the cabin one where Katie as well as her fellow guests saw the tape that had been cursed. Rachel discovered that Anna had an adopted son named Samara who was able to burn frightening images into the minds and bodies of people, animals, and other objects. Rachel is introduced to Anna's widower Richard Richard, however, he demands her go when she begins to ask questions about Samara.
